In the year 1992, the first Potato Corner outlet opened its first location at the SM Megamall in the Philippines. The market response and acceptance were beyond what the founders expected! The amount of reception it got enabled the first store to pay back its capital in just a month.

After a year in the business, the first franchise store was opened. Back then, only three of its iconic flavors were served to its customers- cheese, barbecue, and chili barbecue, and in 1995, the new Sour Cream and Onion flavor was introduced to the market. Two years later, Potato Corner reached the peak of its sales since its launch date. Five years into the operations, it opened its 100th store, and its first commissary in the southern region outside of Metro Manila. This signaled Potato Corner’s unstoppable growth.

Potato Corner soon expanded its first international operations in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2007 with the mindset of helping out more people to become entrepreneurs. This has grown to more than a hundred stores. In 2010, the company braved the competitive first world markets when it opened its flagship stores in Sta. Anita, Los Angeles and Australia.

It was in its 20th year in the operation when Potato Corner experienced store development hypergrowth, more countries now offer the World’s Best Flavored Fries. These namely are Panama, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Singapore. The brand successfully penetrated most of the ASEAN market in the past three years.

Potato Corner also gained numerous recognitions over the years. It holds the Hall of Fame for the Franchise Excellence Award given by the Philippine Franchise Association and Department of Trade and Industry. It also won Best Franchise of the Year for three consecutive years, and most recently, bagged the PFA President’s Award, the highest distinction given by the Franchise Excellence body.
