Mangan at Quickly Premium Bubble Tea-Callingwood and Max’s Restaurant have reopened its dine-in service while Palabok House, Panciteria de Manila and Food To Go have maintained its pick up service.
In an IG post on May 18, Mangan at Quickly announced that they are happy to start serving customers again. Curb side service is available and customers are encouraged to book a time and order ahead. Dine-in service is limited to follow provincial health regulations.
Max’s Restaurant has started serving diners on May 15 following a Friday-Saturday-Sunday dine-in schedule starting from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“Yun lang, dadagsain kami nito, pero wala naman pong maghihintay sa harap ng store, sa kotse lang lahat. Check in sila thru Waitwhile then customers will receive a text message kapag ready na table nila,” said Max’s manager Edwin Arciaga.
Philippine Business Society of Alberta president and owner of Panciteria de Manila Restaurant Bayani Alcantara said Panciteria keep its call, text for order and pick up service for the meantime.
“Yan lang muna,” said Alcantara, whose restaurant is located in the north side of Edmonton.
Lydia Jimenez of Palabok House Restaurant in the south side of the city said that they are planning to resume their dine-in service, and carefully following health regulations, in June. Food to Go by Marsha’s Marsha Aragon said they are also thinking to receive diners next month.
The government of Alberta has started to allow dine-in services provided it is not more than 50 percent seating capacity. The complete guidance for restaurants can be found on alberta.ca/BizConnect.
Alcantara hopes that the Covid-19 pandemic will be over because it has deeply hurt the restaurant business.
“We rely on people coming in to our restaurants, that’s how we best serve them,” said Alcantara, whose restaurant has been a regular venue for the live performance of local Pinoy bands and singers.
