Preparations are on the way for the inaugural induction of officers and members of the Philippine Media Association of Alberta(PMAA).

PMAA president Nicky Gocuan of the Alberta Filipino Journal announced that they have set November 10 as Induction night at the Palabok House along 51 Avenue in Edmonton.

Invitations have been sent to public and private organization leaders in the province, according to Gocuan, a former reporter of a national broadsheet in the Philippines, The Philippine Star and other daily publications before moving to Canada and writing for the Filipino Journal.

The PMAA was incorporated last May 24 as a non-profit organization that will help in the promotion of the Filipino community in both print and online editions.
