Customer experience to be elevated with latest IFE system
[Hong Kong ▪ 4 September 2018] Hong Kong Airlines is proud to announce the next evolution of its premium experience, with the unveiling of a newly upgraded Business Class seat on its latest Airbus A350 aircraft. In addition to a refreshing new look, the new Business Class seat is also equipped with one of the most advanced IFE systems from Thales Group, providing passengers with an immersive entertainment during their travels.
Modern, stylish and personal are the three words that perfectly epitomise the new seat, which was designed in-house using Rockwell Collins’ “Super Diamond” product. Voted by travellers as one of the top Business Class seats in the world, it promises to provide unparalleled comfort and privacy on even the longest flights. It also maximises space and delivers all the entertainment, dining and relaxation options that travellers expect from an excellent Business Class experience.
Each seat also comes with a set of specially designed smooth and soft bedding while the modern and neutral tones in the refreshed cabin offers a comfortable environment for travellers to work and relax in.
All of Hong Kong Airlines’ 33 new Business Class seats on the A350 are ideally arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, which guarantee passengers direct access to the aisles and maximum privacy to work, rest and unwind. With a simple touch of the seat control panel, the seat can be easily reclined into different positions or converted into a comfortable 78-inch full-flat bed, ensuring travellers get ultimate rest during the flight.
For passengers who like a little entertainment on board, Hong Kong Airlines has partnered with Thales Group to install a brand-new IFE system into the A350 aircraft. With a 17-inch widescreen monitor as well as a touch-enabled integrated handset, the new AVANT system promises passengers an enhanced entertainment experience inflight.
Speaking at a special product showcase event today, Mr. Wang Liya, Hong Kong Airlines Vice Chairman and President said: “Our latest Business Class offering and state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system is the result of an ambitious effort to revamp our premium services for our customers. These are significant investments for the Company, and will help lead Hong Kong Airlines into a new decade of success.”
Since taking delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft and the opening of Club Autus, Hong Kong Airlines has continued to push for service enhancements for its Business Class offerings. Initiatives include the launch of new tableware featuring dimsum-shaped salt and pepper shakers, as well as “Truly Hong Kong” designs for its amenity kits. The airline has also worked with great chefs including Hong Kong’s own Gabriel Choy and San Francisco’s Chris Cosentino to put great food in the skies.
Hong Kong Airlines’ new Business Class product on its latest A350 will be deployed on the Bangkok route for crew familiarisation during its first month of operation. Following that, the aircraft will serve Los Angeles regularly.
