In November, 2017, a group of Filipino-Canadian Businessmen led by Celso Andrade formed an Association called the Philippine Business Society of Alberta, with Atty. Joseph Angeles as its legal consultant.
Its main objective is to unite Filipino-Canadian business owners as well as professionals in order for them to promote their businesses, thus ensuring a healthy economic and socio-economic base for Filipino-Canadian Entrepreneurs. PBSA will also promote products, services, educate, and create opportunities locally and globally toward the success of every Filipino Entrepreneur in Alberta.
The Board of Directors were inducted into office by Consul General Gilberto Asuque last June 16, 2018. He challenged the PBSA to serve as conduit in promoting more Philippine products in Canada.
When one tries to gather, people will eventually get together.
PBSA has facilitated its initial step in order to gather Filipino-Canadian businessmen under one roof. In May 30, 2018, the first Annual General Meeting was held at Manila Grill Restaurant in Edmonton. The newly inducted officers and selected Board of Directors had already garnered support from a good number of businessmen in Edmonton and area.
