Three months prior, Hermie Angeles and children Melanie, Mike, and Mark had been working silently for the surprise 70th birthday celebration of Alberta Filipino Journal publisher, Jose Angeles Jr.

The publisher thought he would be attending someone else’s party and lo and behold, the gathering on March 16th at Four Points turned out to be for him!

Close to 300 guests attended and were able to yell out “Surprise!” when he entered the hall. He was indeed surprised!
