It looks like Panciteria de Manila and Cebuchon BBQ are the only Filipino-owned restaurants that are planning to hold a PPV for the July 20 fight of Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao, a senator of the Philippines who just gave up his sports committee chairmanship in favor of another sportsman senator Bong Go, is fighting Keith Thurman for the WBA super welterweight title on July 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Thurman, defending his WBA (Super) welterweight title, is undefeated with a perfect 29-0 win-loss card, 22 of which via KOs and our Pambansang Kamao, the WBA (Regular) welterweight title holder, has a 61-7-2 win-loss-draw record, with 39 KOs.
To all Manny Pacquiao fans, see you at Cebuchon BBQ at 7451 Roper Road NW with telephone number (780) 717-1449 or at Panciteria de Manila at 12832 137 Ave.NW with telephone number (780) 425-5757 and call the owners for ticket reservations.

Gan Soo Do started at the UFC gym in Red Deer and I just learned that it has expanded in other Motion Fitness gyms in Lloydminster and Grande Prairie.
Master Steve Grandeza was able to bring in more Gan Soo Do blackbelt instructors through Motion Fitness to help spread the martial art to Albertans. Masters Aderlyn Rubante, 2nd Dan blackbelt, and Jerry Fornolles, 4th Dan blackbelt, are now part of the team of instructors.
Gan Soo Do, a martial art designed by Steve’s grandfather and grandmaster Casimiro “Chingi” Grandeza, is now on its second year and Master Steve with the assistance of his long-time student and fellow instructor Roman Cuison, who is based at the Motion Fitness in Saskatoon, were able to conduct the first Gan Soo Do examination last year.
And for this year, on June 29 at the Motion Fitness Red Deer, Rubante, Fornolles and Grandeza were able to hold another Gan Soo Do examination to their Canadian students.
We wish Gan Soo Do instructors success and keep spreading the martial art.

I’d like to thank Warren Guillen, one of the supervisors at Lube City Express Oil Change, for giving me and my wife Marj, the chance to watch the Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals at the Castrol Raceway.
I met Guillen many moons ago when he was still playing for the multi-titled University of Mindanao Maroons, renamed UM Wildcats, and covered their championship games for the community papers.
It was a pleasant experience watching those fast cars, although Marj was more interested on the RVs on display and that’s another story, hahahaha.
Thank you Warren and Lube City!
