RP Consulate General’s Office warns of `No Consulate of Philippines in Saskatoon’; Urges Pinoys to be vigilant

The Philippine Consulate General’s Office in Calgary has issued a warning to the Filipino community that there is no “Consulate of the Philippines in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada”.
“The public is advised that there is no Philippine Consulate in Saskatchewan at this time,” said the advisory emailed to the media, January 23.
“Filipinos and Filipino-Canadians are urged to be vigilant against spurios claims or misinformation posted on the Internet, and to report questionable or suspicious claims relating to Philippine missions in Canada to the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa or to the Philippine Consulates General in Calgary, Toronto, or Vancouver and additionally to Philippine Honorary Consulates in Halifax, St.John’s and Winnipeg,” the advisory added.
The Consulate General’s Office received information that there is an alleged Consulate office in Saskatoon and posted online was the address “1304 Est Centre, Saskatoon, SK S7J 3A9, telephone number (306)374-7645, email cmaning@sasktel.net”.
