To what shall we compare the Kingdom of God? “It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth. But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.”
Jesus often uses images of smallness when describing the heavenly kingdom. What do mustard seeds teach us about the Kingdom of God? For me, the message is this: GROW because the best is yet to come. How to grow? Well, start small and end big. Start by being a seed and end up a tree producing numerous seeds. Do not be scared to start insignificant. Do not be afraid of being helpless and powerless, because like the mustard seed, we have the immense potential to make wonders. You are a huge tree wrapped in a tiny seed. Remember, the biggest in the world is small in its beginning. Friends, supersize your faith! There is greatness in tiny things. No matter how small it seems, faith has an overwhelming power. It can move mountains.
Today, start to value the small and insignificant events in your life. I know it may seem small but it is not about what it is, it is about what it becomes. Friends, bear in mind that success is the result of small and insignificant moment to moment choices that yield big results. Small does not meant insignificant. Small can be mighty. Little by little, little becomes a lot. Little things are big. Do not be frustrated if you have a loony or a peso now for that is how your billions start. Guys, do not complain if you’re still working now and tired of paying debts for that is how you start to build an empire. Being unnoticed will pave the way for you into the mainstream. Friends, do not despair if you are still single until now for that is how you begin to journey towards your perfect match. One day, someone will walk into your life and make you realize why it never worked out with anyone else. Success in life is not measured by how long you wait but it is about how well you understand why you are waiting.
Conclusion: Rejoice for now things may seem small but one day they will be huge and great. Jesus is that small seed. Allow Him to be part of your journey towards success and greatness. Folks, keep growing. Start small and end big. Do not stress over the things you can’t control. Like the farmer after the planting he sleeps and he believes in tomorrow. Today, declare it to the Lord that the rest of our life will be the best of our life.
Blessings
