Two outstanding pioneers received the 2019 Sen. Enverga Medal of Excellence in recognition of community leadership as leaders and role models who inspire the achievement of community-based goals within the Community.

Jose (Jun) Angeles and Dr. Josephine Pallard of Edmonton, both semi-centenarians received the prestigious medal of Excellence during the visit of the late Senator’s wife, Rosemer Enverga on April 13, 2019 at a reception given by the Quezonian Club of Edmonton and the Alberta Filipino Journal.

Both multi-awarded individuals, Jose (Jun) Angeles is the President of the Congress of Philippine Associations of Alberta (COPAA) and the Publisher of the Alberta Filipino Journal, while Dr. Josephine Pallard is an educator and founder of Changing Together, a Center for Immigrant Women as well as the Filipino-Canadian Saranay Association of Alberta.

For half a century, both Angeles and Pallard unselfishly devoted their time and service to the welfare of the Filipino and Canadian communities in general.
