Palabok House surprised regular customers, Alberta Filipino Journal publisher Jun Angeles, editor Lito Velasco and DJ Rolan Latorre of Himig Pinoy with a “royal food treat” on their birthdays.

Palabok House owner Lydia Jimenez completely surprised the three Filipino media members that made the three speechless after seeing the “handaan”.

Jun Angeles, Velasco and Latorre are regular customers of Palabok, enjoying the Batangas Lomi and other viands after the radio program at 6 p.m. or after beating the deadline of the newspaper.

The three and other media member columnist Nicky Gocuan would normally flock at Palabok House for coffee to discuss issues of the day.

Palabok House, a gold winner of the Readers’ Choice Awards by the Edmonton Journal as Best Filipino Restaurant in Edmonton, for more than two decades has been a venue for various functions of the Filipino community.
