Quality Care Group initiates donation drive for Food Bank

A donation drive for Edmonton’s Food Bank was organized by Quality Care Group of Companies in cooperation with the Benjie Lindo Live Updates on December 21 as part of the “Pasayaw sa Bayan, Give Love on Christmas Day” event at the Sejong Hall.

Edmonton’s Food Bank has been experiencing a rise of request for food but donations have been down this year.

Quality Care Group founders Kris Salumbides, Jesse Tallon and Jacob Christian have been encouraging the community to bring donation for the Food Bank weeks before the “Pasayaw”, a year-end event by the QCG that manages medical facilities like a family medical clinic and pharmacy, sleep medicine and medical supplies in Alberta province.

“This is one way of showing our love to the community,” said the company co-founders.

Non-perishable food item or cash donation are actually accepted year-round at Food Bank’s main warehouse on 11508-120 Street (Monday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – closed holiday weekends)

“We are asking our donors to step up, as they have so generously in the past, to support Edmonton’s Food Bank. It is only with their generosity that we are able to provide the kind of support to the community that we do. We do not receive funding from any level of government for our programs and food purchases,” said Marjorie Bencz, Executive Director of Edmonton’s Food Bank on their website.

“We are very concerned for 2020 if we cannot make our goals as we need to continue to help our community moving forward,” she added.
