May 8, 2019 – The Edmonton Heritage Festival organizers called for a 2019 Spring Pavilion Meeting held at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton in preparation for the Heritage Festival which will be celebrated on the 3rd until the 5th of August 2019. Almost all the races were represented by their own leaders. Specifically, the Philippine Pavilion will be managed by the Congress of the Philippine Associations of Alberta (COPAA). Mr. Jun Angeles, COPAA’S President has already thought of duplicating what the EHF has done to the Edmontonians. That is, gathering our fellow Filipinos into one venue for the purpose of enjoying diversity.
Looking ahead: He also mentioned that a series of meetings shall be called for the intention of initiating volunteerism.
Conspicuously visible during the meeting were Hermie Angeles, the president’s wife as well as Lulu Bernal, COPAA’S Secretary; Tracy De Laurier, the former president of the Edmonton Heritage Festival; of course, Payman Parseyan, the former president of the Iranian Society of Edmonton, the honorary member of the Congress of the Philippine Associations of Alberta, and the newly appointed Press Secretary to the Minister of Culture’s office at the Legislature, who were requested to join in the picture with the COPAA’S President Jun Angeles and Vice President Lito Velasco immediately after the meeting.
