Foreign Qualification Recognition (FQR) and immigration professional Jordan Walker, whose passion is International Relations, met with Journal editor Lito Velasco for a night of talk on various topics involving the Filipino community at Emilio’s Inasal, Feb.11.
Jordan strongly believes that “a focused and fair foreign qualification recognition (FQR) component” should be a policy agenda as “part of a broader skills agenda for our labour force” in Alberta. Newcomers have kept coming in the province like Jun Calixihan, an engineer by profession and wife Nieves, an IT professional from the Philippines.
He is also a member of the United Conservative Party of Alberta and is active in southwest Edmonton. He plans to hold a “Politics 101” workshop, an information session for the Filipino community about the political system in Alberta.
“It is good to know that he has shown interest of the Filipino community and he has, in fact, served our community as a foreign qualification recognition and immigration professional for years,” said Velasco.
