Issues of social justice are factors that can cause people to suffer and might cause them to be maltreated. As a youth and as a student, I want to see that all the kids in our society would have their smile on their faces and laughter on their lips. Franklin D. Roosevelt said that,” We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can always build our youth for the future”. I, myself, am a youth who have the responsibility to make the world keep going. The youths are important because they are the hope of our future.
There are many issues of social justice happening around the world, here are some of the issues that involve social justice: Poverty: an issue that needs to be paid more attention to. People die from hunger every day; seeking and asking for help all day. They suffer yet pray every night for food and a comfortable shelter to live in. Civil Rights: people may suffer from racism and sexism – these are inevitable.
People around the world are equal – every person is created by God in His image and likeness. So, God created us co-equal. No matter what our sex is, no matter what our race is, we are called to be united with equity and impartiality.
Access to education: there are millions of kids who cannot go to school because of their accessibility to it. Some kids have to cross rivers and valleys just to go to their school. They have to wake up early in the morning just to get prepared for school then walk a couple of hours to get there.
Access to health care: some people die from sickness because they lack accessibility to a hospital or a clinic. People might be required to treat themselves in the way they know how to because medical hospitals are not accessible to them. Our health is more important than any other things because how can we do things if we are already dead? People from remote areas might not have hospitals nearby and because of that, people die. That is why we should put more attention to these kinds of issues because people might suffer longer.
Our community suffers from these kinds of issues that need to be resolved. One major thing that I could do to help resolve the problem is to study hard and work hard. It is because when we grow up and get brilliant jobs, we can help the people who are suffering, the needy and the poor. Nelson Mandela said that,” Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I believe that education is a vital thing for our life because without education, there would be no professions like doctors, engineers, scientists, teachers, and pilots. That is why, we should start helping the people suffering by studying hard so we could make the world change for the good, the better and the best.
