More than three decades ago, a Vismin Club in Edmonton was born, gathered by like-minded individuals with a vision of camaraderie amongst Filipino Immigrants and workers. The founding leaders of this group know the struggle, the hustle, and the fact that even great success and realizing a Filipino- Canadian dream never negates the volume of hard work it takes to keep an organization going. The leaders are also passionate about philanthropy, knowing that the more you give, the more you will receive.
Visminians has always been a community of success, they rise to the challenge to help others in need. Their aim is to provide assistance to victims of calamities, to alleviate poverty by providing necessities of life such as food and clothing, to help newcomers to Canada settle into Canadian way of life, to preserve and advance heritage of the Philippines through educational, cultural, including history, language, music, cuisine and to foster cooperation and spirit of volunteerism among members to achieve its objectives.
On Sept 16, Vismin Association of Edmonton (with its new name) celebrated its 35th year anniversary welcoming new members, which is now open to all interested individuals to join, and young and vibrant set of new Executives who had taken responsibilities to lead for the next two years.
